Home Improvement – Bathroom Remodeling Ideas

A clawfoot tub can really give your bathroom a touch of class. When I moved in to my new house, we found an old stainless steel clawfoot bathtub in the back yard being used as a flowerbed. As we had recently added a second bathroom, I thought it would be a neat idea to have an antique clawfoot tub in the bathroom.

The thing sure was heavy, but we loaded it in to my truck and I paid to have it refinished. The tub was white and it had a gray base. The legs were reminiscent of a griffin. I decided to make those chrome. Now the tub is the focal point of the bathroom. The drain hooked up just fine and through the magic of online retailers, I found an old showerhead and oval rail for the shower curtain. Everybody that visits the bathroom always comments on how unique and retro the tub is. I even opted to put a pedestal sink in there to accommodate the vintage look.

When I plan to sell the house, you can bet it will attract some buyers. Every house has a regular plastic tub and vanity sink. These modifications, while a little pricier than most would desire, can really make a bathroom stand apart from other rooms in the house. I am currently planning on adding other vintage trinkets to the bathroom to exaggerate that feel a little more, such as old oil paintings or antique wall mirrors. I can’t wait until it is finished.
